Remexa ("the app") is a context-aware reminder app by Fenn Saji. This policy describes what data the app handles and how.
Data we collect
Account data (optional). You can use Remexa entirely offline without an account. If you create one, we store your email address and a salted password hash (argon2id) to operate sign-in and sync.
Your content. Lists, items, reminders, and saved places (names and coordinates you choose) are stored on your device. If you sign in, they are also stored on our servers so they sync across your devices and with people you share lists with.
Location. Location is used on-device to trigger place-based reminders (geofencing) and to help you pick places on a map. Your live location is never sent to our servers and never stored — only the places you explicitly save are synced. Background location access, if you grant it, is used solely to fire reminders when you arrive at or leave your saved places.
Push tokens. If you sign in, a Firebase Cloud Messaging token for your device is stored to deliver shared-list update notifications.
What we don't do
- No ads, no trackers, no analytics SDKs.
- No sale or sharing of personal data with third parties.
- No collection of contacts, files, or browsing data.
Third-party services
- Google Maps / Places — renders the map and powers place search; your queries go to Google under their privacy policy.
- Firebase Cloud Messaging (Google) — delivers push notifications.
- Supabase (Postgres) / Render / PowerSync — host the sync backend for signed-in accounts.
Data retention & deletion
Delete Account (in-app, Account screen) permanently deletes your account and all server-side data immediately (cascading delete). Uninstalling the app removes all on-device data. You can also just sign out — your data stays on your device and your account remains for a later sign-in.
